International cinema is showing its prominent position in genre development with the influences of globalization. As the creation of hybrid genres encounters cross-cultural influences (Staiger), this project explores international cinema adaption in North America with the case of Jane the Virgin – a loosely adopted telenovela. My visual approach is a one-page folded zine providing a close-up to each contributor in individual pages while leading to the big connection that creates hybrid genre. The work offers a map of stimulators that facilitate the raise of hybrid genre. With the support of animation, it aims to convey a dynamic relationship between factors which is continuously changing.
